Project Description: Funds were used to pay for Emergency, CPR and First Aid course for OFA members (children and staff as well) and for the lunch on the day of the course. The course was free for members. There was a total of 16 participants.
Project summary: The first aid and CPR course had an online component that participants had to complete before attending the in-person course. It covered many subjects, such as first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest, wound care, bone, muscle and joint injuries, environmental injuries and much more. The in-person course allowed participants to practice what they learned online (CPR on adults, children, and babies, first aid with wounds).
Lasting and relevant impact to the OFA membership: With First Aid and CPR training, this benefits everyone on and off the farm. Members and their employees will be more confident and able to help in case of an emergency because they’ve learned the skills necessary to help others, especially in a farm accident.
