Project Name: Oxford Fresh / Big Cheese Days
Project summary and highlights:
OCFA partnered with Tourism Oxford to promote the Oxford Fresh Buy Local map and the producers on the map. The promotion took place during the Big Cheese Day celebrations in Oxford in May for each Saturday that month. The chef demos required the use of local ingredients from farms on the map. The other 3 Saturdays featured a local producer and samples of their products with consumers having the opportunity to purchase product as well. Tourism Oxford promoted the event during their promotion of Big Cheese Days. Attendance was done compared to previous years due to weather. Despite the weather, it was a great partnership with Tourism Oxford and Big Cheese Days. It helped make people aware of the local products available in the County.
How were funds used, any partner contributions besides the Federation?
The funds were used to pay an honourium to our 3 producers and our 2 chef demos.
Were there any organizations that partnered in-kind contributions?
Tourism Oxford contributed financially but they also provided the marketing of the event.
