Crop Awareness Signs
The Northumberland Federation of Agriculture (NFA) appreciates the support of the Revive Fund for its new agricultural awareness field sign project. The crop identifier signs identify corn, wheat and soybeans, and inform those driving by what is being grown in the field and the many beneficial end uses the crop provides. The signs are re-usable for each new crop season and are displayed in high-traffic areas in the county. NFA believes in the importance of agricultural awareness and trying to find new ways of sharing agricultural information with the public. It’s all about cultivating an appreciation for the land and all that it provides us with.
The project includes 6 signs, approximately 4’ x 4’ in size which bear images of the crops as well as NFA and OFA logos. The signs were installed in summer 2021 for visibility throughout the growing season and will be moved as needed to appropriate host fields for 2022.
