Project Name: Member Appreciation Breakfast
Project summary and highlights:
GFA was very pleased to see an excellent turnout of Grenville Federation farm families to the member appreciation breakfast. GFA wanted to show their appreciation to their membership for their continued support as members of the GFA and OFA. This membership breakfast buffet will also provide a morning of networking and learning more about the OFA member benefits and what supports OFA can offer to farmers and some of the projects and programs OFA is working on. Clint Cameron (zone 11 director) was in attendance and spoke to the farmers in attendance. Bonus feature was the attendance of the local MP and municipal councillors. However, the main goal is to have a relaxed sense of community while sharing a delicious breakfast buffet (bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, etc.). Incidentally, Dixon’s purchases almost all local food for his business which was a benefit and support to the local agricultural community.
Describe lasting and relevant impact to the OFA membership.
The goal was to recognize and show appreciation to the GFA membership for their continued support and loyalty to OFA. To provide a sense of community amongst the membership and an opportunity to network with others to chat and learn about each others operation. Building connections within the agricultural community for long lasting and relevant impacts on the community. While also learning about some of the member benefits from OFA and other work OFA is doing for farmers.
