Ontario is experiencing a capacity shortfall for managing deadstock. In December, Ontario and Canada announced cost-share funding to address immediate and short-term deadstock capacity needs in Ontario under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.
The application deadline has been extended to January 31, 2022, unless all funding is allocated prior to that date.
The initiative targets waste management facilities, municipalities, livestock producers, and other agri-businesses such as auction barns, transporters, renderers and veterinary clinics to increase capacity for deadstock management.
See http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/cap/deadstockguide.htm for complete program details, including eligibility requirements, eligible and ineligible expenses and the application process.
