In 2020, more than 700 OFA members responded to a survey asking what is important to farmers when they’re building business relationships with service providers.
As a result, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture developed a guide to serve as a resource for farm and agri-business service providers who want to develop strong and meaningful relationships with their farm clients by engaging in effective and relevant conversations.
Although each farm business has unique goals, marketing preferences and communication styles, we used the information gathered through the survey to develop a short reference guide to offer some general practical advice for service providers. The guide can be found here on OFA’s website.
Now, three years later and coming out of a global pandemic, the OFA is interested in following up with its membership to learn how these relationships have evolved, the opportunities and challenges encountered and the overall experience with industry service providers.
Whether it be representatives from banks, government, input companies, conservation authorities, utilities and others, we want to hear from you. Please share your insights, experiences and any relevant stories, without identifying individual names or companies.
The purpose of the survey is to gather input and feedback from farm businesses that we can use to update and enhance the existing guide. Experiences shared throughout the survey may be incorporated into an updated version as case studies to teach service providers how to better serve farm clients.
Your responses will be kept confidential and will only be reported in aggregate form. The survey should only take 10 minutes to complete.
The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, March 24.
