The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is excited to see the Ontario government invest $1 million annually to promote locally grown food.

Typically a big spread, perhaps with family and friends gathered about, it is an indulgent capper to a celebration that is weeks — if not months — in the making. But falling where it does on the calendar — after the first day of winter and well into the cold days of the Canadian year, it may seem like a challenge to get local food into the feast.  

More than 220 delegates from 50 local federations and 12 commodity organizations representing the grassroots voice of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) attended the organization’s 2021 Virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) Board of Directors gave Peggy Brekveld and the entire Executive Committee a vote of confidence as the leadership group was re-elected for a second consecutive term.

Prime Minister Trudeau, who enters his third term as Canada’s leader, will once again lead a minority government.

4-H Ontario is hosting a silent auction for a 2021 Honda Foreman TRX520 from Kitchener Waterloo Honda. The 2021 Honda ATV was generously donated to 4-H Ontario by the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA). Bidding for the ATV opens September 15 and will conclude on October 12 at 7 p.m.
