OFA project highlights training and career opportunities in Focus on Food and Livestock video series
The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) has launched a series of videos to assist producers with online training and shed some light on the opportunities for careers in agriculture. The Focus on Food and Focus on Livestock video series is part of the Feeding Your Future project, a Canadian Agricultural Partnership initiative to connect job seekers to employers in the agri-food sector, and to provide unique training opportunities during the pandemic and beyond.
OFA’s 2020 virtual annual meeting focuses on road to recovery for agri-food sector
GUELPH, ON [November 24, 2020] – More than 270 delegates from 50 county federations and 18 commodity organizations representing the grassroots voice of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) attended the organization’s 2020 Virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM). The event, which took place on Monday, November 23, featured a jam-packed agenda showcased by addresses from government leaders, Director-at-Large election, bylaw ratification, year in review video, dynamic keynote speaker, resolutions and concluding with acknowledgment of the bursary winners.
OFA board of directors elect Peggy Brekveld as the organization’s new president
GUELPH, ON [November 23, 2020] – The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is preparing for a year of growth and opportunities for the agri-food sector with a new leader at the helm. Peggy Brekveld has been elected as OFA’s 32nd President and the third female President in the organization’s history. She will serve in the position for a one-year term.
OFA members vote in favour of amended bylaw to alter executive election process
GUELPH, ON [November 23, 2020] – With a record number of attendees, delegates of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) 2020 Virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) voted in favour of passing OFA bylaw 20-1 that will now allow the Board of Directors the ability to elect its Executive Committee. More than 270 delegates from 50 county federations and 18 commodity groups participated in the event, representing the voice of the organization’s grassroots.
Settlement reached in freedom-of-information request
