2020 has been a year like no other. Collectively, Ontario’s agri-food sector has faced significant obstacles including labour shortages, lack of processing capacity and processing disruptions, railway disruptions, threats of animal activism, lost and volatile markets, and a really irritating freedom-of-information request.
We are extremely proud to share with you some of the highlights of the past year. You’re still planting and growing, picking and harvesting, feeding and shearing and milking, shipping and marketing. We’re still soliciting member input on challenges issues and opportunities, we’re engaging policymakers at all levels of government, participating in farm and trade shows, and virtual panels, responding to government legislation and regulations and continuing to serve our members in all corners of the province. We’re tackling the issues that keep you up at night to ensure we are and we have Farms and Food Forever.
