Having a Business Risk Management (BRM) program in place can be crucial in ensuring your farm business or operation can continue producing food, fibre and fuel for the province and for Canada, even in cases of uncertainty or unprecedented events. AgriStability is a Business Risk Management Program under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership that helps farmers manage income risk by providing financial assistance when their farm business experiences a large margin decline.
This year, the federal and provincial governments have extended the deadline for 2022 AgriStability applications and fee payment to June 30, 2022. The extension will give new and existing AgriStability customers more time and flexibility to assess evolving risks and consider how AgriStability can help manage those risks.
Each year, farmers are faced with risks of production losses, losses associated with animal health or disease, market uncertainties and rising input costs. AgriStability protects the income of the whole farm, helping to offset losses if there is a large decline in the farm’s income.
