OFA developed and launched survey to gather input on the new fertilizer emission reduction. The Canadian government has set a national target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from fertilizer use by 30% below 2020 levels by 2030. This is a voluntary Canada-wide emissions reduction target and does not require every farm operation to reduce its fertilizer use.
Agriculture and Agri-food Canada (AAFC) released a fertilizer discussion paper that serves an consultation resource that will help determine the best course of action to achieve this target. It is important to note that this is a voluntary Canada-wide emissions reduction target and does not require every farm operation to reduce its fertilizer use.
The following short survey is meant to help inform the Ontario Federation of Agriculture’s response to the consultation outlined above. This survey is open to all OFA members. Our response to the AAFC consultation, including the results of this survey, will be made available on our website once the survey has been completed.
