It’s membership renewal season for farmers across Ontario — and with it comes an important choice.
Through Farm Business Registration (FBR), farmers select membership in one of Ontario’s three accredited farm organizations. Every year, that choice is yours to make: which organization you want to support with your membership, and which organization best represents your farm, your family, and your future.
So why choose OFA as your Accredited Farm Organization of choice this year?
We’re the trusted voice that turns your concerns into action: at Queen’s Park, in Ottawa, in the media, and in communities across the province. In 2025, that meant:

OFA represents you with:
Advocacy that delivers
We work directly with policymakers to help them understand agriculture and ensure decisions reflect the realities of farming and the impact on those who produce food, fuel, fibre, and flowers.
Partnerships that strengthen farms
Strong agriculture depends on collaboration. OFA builds partnerships that deliver practical tools and solutions to keep farms competitive and resilient.
A united voice for rural Ontario
When farmers speak together, they are harder to ignore. OFA provides a strong, united voice for farmers and rural communities on the issues that matter most.
How to become an OFA member through Farm Business Registration
Farm Business Registration membership: This is the most well-known way to become an OFA member. Ontario farms that earned a gross income of at least $7,000 in the past year must register their business through Agricorp to qualify for certain programs and benefits.
Once registered, those farm businesses are eligible for:
- farm property class tax rate for farmland
- farm vehicle license plates
- member benefits and discounts with OFA partners
- participation in special government programs for agriculture such as
- Wildlife Damage Compensation Program for crop or livestock losses
- Cost-share programs for on-farm environmental improvements and projects
- Access to timely workshops and information sessions on key topics of importance to members like farm succession, insurance, fire and crime prevention, and selling directly to consumers.
Individual Farm Membership: Individuals who are or have been directly involved in farming but who do not otherwise qualify for Farm Business Registration can buy an Individual Farm Membership. OFA also counts 35 agricultural and commodity organizations among our valued members.
