OFA and Farm Life have formed a partnership to offer OFA members preferred rates on their succession planning services.
Farm Life was founded by Darrell Wade after his family faced the consequences of the right things not being planned for on his family farm. His father, like so many farmers today, didn’t take the time to plan for the “what ifs” with his professional team and he didn’t communicate his intentions. With the sudden passing of his father at the age of 65 there was no legacy for the family farm business.
Farm Life specializes in empowering farm families to have courageous conversations about the future of their family farm. Its mission is to keep farmers farming and to work with families through the succession process in a way that protects family harmony. It works with families across the province to build continuity of the farm through succession, transition and tax efficient estate plans.
Farm Life has a team of professional experts who collaborate with your current advisors to build a succession plan for your family farm. Through this process they provide financial assessment, business planning, financial sustainability and a succession plan that protects both the family harmony and the legacy of the farm. Farm Life educates farm families and motivates the next generation of farmers.
OFA and Farm Life hosted a webinar in January 2020 as a follow up to the 2019 version. In this webinar, Farm Life dug deeper into understanding the value communication brings to relationships while discussing the future of your family farm. Farm Life examined a family they’ve worked with and how they were able to resolve similar challenges many families face while discussing continuity of the farm.
Farm Life Founder Darrell Wade walked families through the tools needed to understand the importance of having these courageous conversations with professionals and protecting your family farm legacy. Click here to watch the recorded version of the webinar.
