It is estimated that approximately 40% of farmland in Ontario is rented, but many are unaware of the conditions landlords impose in their rental agreements and the impact this could have on farming activities. That is why for the past several years the OFA has partnered with the University of Guelph to help distribute its farmland rental survey. The University of Guelph has recently released the results of the 2020 farmland rental survey.
This is the fifth year that OFA and the University of Guelph have partnered on this project. In addition to the traditional questions, the 2020 survey provides data on the perceived impact of COVID-19 on farmland values.
