OFA reiterated the critical land-use planning need for: 1. Fixed, permanent urban boundaries for all settlement areas in all municipalities; 2. Converting the density and intensification targets in the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe into mandatory density and intensification requirements; and 3. Ending the policy of phasing in the density and intensification targets.
OFA also noted that the Guidance material should reference OMAFRA’s Agricultural Impact Assessment (AIA) guidance since AIAs will be mandatory for settlement boundary expansions, infrastructure and aggregate licence applications in the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
