OFA supports the proposal to overlay a electricity transmission corridor within the Northwest Greater Toronto Area Transportation Corridor, which is expected to minimize environmental impacts and reduce costs. OFA insists that landowners should be notified before their lands are entered. Entry should only occur such that biosecurity protocols are maintained and interruptions to farming activities are minimized. Access must also consider processes to reduce damage to crops and soil compaction, compensate farmers for production interruption and address consequences should farmers be unable to use all their land.
