OFA provides comments to the Honourable Nina Tangri, Associate Minister, Small Business and Red Tape Reduction regarding her recent appointment. OFA is supportive of the government’s priority to cut red tape and remove regulatory burdens on businesses, leading to job creation and revenue generation, and allowing businesses to thrive. OFA would appreciate the opportunity to meet with Minister Tangri to discuss two key areas where red tape and regulatory burden is impacting our members. One being the Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) cessation requirement that triggers a farmer to prepare an updated NMP every five years even where there has been no substantial change to the operation. The other is to discuss and identify areas where we can remove burdensome red tape for our processing sector, in particular our abattoirs.
