Today, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) launched a new public trust / consumer outreach program, in partnership with Farm & Food Care Ontario (FFCO). The announcement was made at OFA’s 2021 Annual General Meeting, held virtually.

Prime Minister Trudeau, who enters his third term as Canada’s leader, will once again lead a minority government.

4-H Ontario is hosting a silent auction for a 2021 Honda Foreman TRX520 from Kitchener Waterloo Honda. The 2021 Honda ATV was generously donated to 4-H Ontario by the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA). Bidding for the ATV opens September 15 and will conclude on October 12 at 7 p.m.

In response to the ongoing drought and strenuous growing conditions in parts of Ontario and western Canada, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is donating $100,000 to emergency initiatives to support our farming community. 

The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario (CFFO) and the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) hosted the official launch of Resilient Fields this afternoon. Resilient Fields is a free online tool to help farmers work through specific field challenges and find sustainable solutions for their farms.

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is grateful for the prompt financial assistance to ensure farmers in Rainy River, Kenora and Dryden have access to water and feed to sustain their herds. It will also ensure the continued viability of the farming and food sector in northern Ontario.

Today, the Ontario government announced a shuffle in its cabinet, resulting in several key members and ministerial positions changing hands. A notable change impacting the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) and its members is the departure of Hon. Ernie Hardman as Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Hon. Lisa Thompson will take over the reins leading the agriculture and rural portfolio in Ontario.
