OFA advised Minister Phillips that OFA made key recommendations during the comment period earlier this year regarding the Excess Soil Management regulatory proposal. OFA wants to ensure our agricultural lands are never compromised through inappropriate excess soil reuse. OFA supports the adoption of an Excess Soil Management regulation to implement a tracking system from source to end use and ensure that only topsoil is applied to agricultural land, amongst other measures. OFA encouraged the Minister to finalize and bring into force the regulation.
