OFA thanked the Hon. Minister of Government and Consumer Services Lisa Thompson and her staff for ensuring organizations, like OFA, are not negatively impacted by unintentional consequences when the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA) is brought into force. OFA is pleased that subsection 207 (3) of ONCA will allow a not-for-profit corporation to amend one provision at a time, should it wish to during the transition period. Therefore, OFA will be able to retain it’s current inclusive democratic structure of having Delegates and Policy Advisory Councillors elected at the regional level and OFA Directors elected by members in specified zones (Zone Directors) and elected by delegates attending our Annual meeting (Directors-at-Large).
