OFA provided support and recommendations regarding the Ministry of Economic Development and Growth’s efforts to reduce regulatory costs for businesses. OFA recommended that a preliminary Analysis of Regulatory Impact be made public when a proposed regulation is made public, and a final Analysis of Regulatory Impact report to be made public when the regulation is made. OFA also recommended that the government obligation to reduce existing costs for business by $1.25 for every $1 of new administrative costs imposed by a regulation should apply to all regulations which required an Analysis of Regulatory Impact to be prepared.
