The presentation, which was featured on OFA’s webinar with OMAFRA about the New Guidelines of Ontario’s Wildlife Damage Compensation Program, provides an overview of updates to the Wildlife Damage Compensation Program, that came into effect on January 1, 2017.
The Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program provides financial assistance to owners whose livestock, poultry and/or honey bees have been damaged or killed by wildlife. In the fall of 2016, OMAFRA concluded their review of the Wildlife Damage Compensation Program and implemented a number of changes that came into effect on January 1, 2017.
The program objectives are to provide a fair level of compensation for losses incurred where predation can be confirmed as the cause based on clear evidence.
