OFA provided comments on the proposed draft government response statement (species-specific policy) outlining proposed actions to protect and recover the Yellow-breasted Chat, a species at risk bird in Ontario. OFA agreed with the proposed recovery actions for Yellow-breasted Chat, found only on Pelee Island and in Point Pelee National Park. OFA suggested the government focus on actions with regards to the identified threats, namely the suppression of natural disturbances, invasive species and predation. OFA stated it does not support the conversion of agricultural lands to non-farm uses unless the conversion is undertaken willingly.
