OFA provides comments to the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ (OMAFRA) proposal to alter the Agricultural Tile Drainage Installation Act (ATDIA). OFA is pleased to support OMAFRA’s proposal to amend R.R.O 1990, Reg 18 – General under the Agricultural Tile Drainage Installation Act (ATDIA). This proposal removes all fees of $50 or less from this regulation, while maintaining the licencing requirements and renewals. We understand this is anticipated to save approximately $9000.00 annually along with some administrative cost savings. Under this proposal, the requirement to renew licences will remain, however there will no longer be a cost to these renewals. We understand there will be no change to the $250 annual business licence fee requirement under this regulation.
