OFA insists the draft Algonquin wolf recovery strategy must balance the recovery objectives with the predation mitigation needs of Ontario’s livestock farmers. Expanding Algonquin wolf and coyote protection zones into highly modified agricultural landscapes will not benefit recovery efforts but will exacerbate the viability of livestock farmers. OFA recommends the membership of the Algonquin Wolf Advisory Group include farm organization representatives.
