OFA outlined concerns to Finance Minister Charles Sousa that the agricultural sector was led to believe that diesel fuel, and more importantly coloured diesel fuel, would be exempt from carbon pricing. OFA demanded that the Ontario Ministry of Finance develop a program by which farmers can avoid the additional costs to farm fuels resulting from Ontario’s Cap and Trade system through exemption or rebates.
