OFA thanked the Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and the Burlington City Council for their unanimous support and endorsement of proclaiming additional sections of Bill 156. On September 28, 2020, the Burlington City Council unanimously supported a motion urging the government to immediately proclaim Section 6(2) of Bill 156, the Security from Trespass and Protecting Food Safety Act, 2020. Bill 156 strengthens protections for farm families, agri-food employees, animals and the food system while maintaining the right to lawful protest. OFA is pleased to have the support of Mayor Meed Ward and her Council, and hope that their endorsement will help shed light on this crucial situation.
