OFA strongly recommends the doubling of the 0.5 cent per tonne fee allocated to the Aggregate Resources Trust for rehabilitation of formerly unlicensed sites to productive agricultural uses, etc. Secondly, OFA recommends that a portion of the fees and royalties be allocated to “haul route” municipalities to address wear and tear on their roads serving as haul routes. Thirdly, OFA proposes that the allocation to the province be used solely for funding the Ministry’s Aggregate Resources Act roles and responsibilities.
