As part of OFA’s “Producing Prosperity in Ontario” advocacy efforts, OFA recommended the Ontario Chamber of Commerce include rural economic development requests related to natural gas, broadband internet, and other infrastructure investments in their federal pre-budget submission. OFA also suggested the Chamber request federal attention to addressing the labour shortages challenging the agri-food sector and the administrative burden associated with the hiring temporary foreign workers. Also, OFA raised the need to ensure farm succession planning is not jeopardized by revisions to the federal Income Tax Act.
