Brian Crews has been the representative for farmers in Hastings, Lennox & Addington, Northumberland and Prince Edward counties on the Ontario Federation of Agriculture board since 2023.
He farms with his wife Cyndi, son Andrew and parents Carl & Helena just north of Trenton, where they milk approximately 95 cows as well as plant, harvest and dry field crops.
After university, a desire to serve his community brought Brian to the local volunteer fire department, which led to a 35+-year career as a firefighter with the Toronto Fire Service. This has given him a unique perspective on bridging urban-rural gaps.
OFA committee participation
Brian is a member of the OFA’s Resolutions Committee.
OFA board liaison positions
Brian is the OFA’s board liaison with the Ontario Apple Growers, Ontario Fur Breeders’ Association, and Veal Farmers of Ontario. He also represents OFA as a member of the Land Matters Advisory Committee with the Canada Energy Regulator.
