Andrea McCoy-Naperstkow farms in the Eastern Ontario county of Lanark, near Carleton Place where she and her husband Arvin raise beef cattle and grow crops. She joined the OFA board in 2023 representing farmers in Arnprior, Lanark, Ottawa and Renfrew, but has been involved with her local federation of agriculture in various roles for the last 25 years.
Andrea worked full-time for the city of Ottawa for 35 years in social services, child care subsidy and social housing while also farming, before retiring in 2014 and focusing more fully on farming. She currently sits on the Lanark County Agriculture Committee, and teaches in the business agriculture diploma program at Algonquin College’s Perth campus.
Involvement with the OFA and representing the agriculture community run deep in her family’s roots, and she’s particularly passionate about farmer mental health, rural infrastructure and relationships between local and provincial governments and the agriculture sector.
