Zone Director Elections

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) Zone Director elections have concluded. Debra Pretty-Straathof and Jacqueline Kelly-Pemberton have been elected as Zone Director for their respective regions. The Zone Directors have been elected for a three-year term, effective November 22, 2017.

Debra has been elected in Zone 8 representing the region of Arnprior, Lanark, Ottawa & Renfrew.

Jackie has been elected in Zone 11 representing the region of Dundas, Frontenac, Grenville & Leeds.

This year, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) will be holding elections for Zone Director in Zone 8, the region of Arnprior, Lanark, Ottawa & Renfrew, and Zone 11, the region of Dundas, Frontenac, Grenville & Leeds. The Zone Director will be elected for a three-year term, effective November 22, 2017. OFA members residing in Zone 8 and Zone 11 are eligible to vote for a Zone Director to represent their interests on the Board of Directors.

Voting will begin on Monday, August 21 and close Friday, September 8, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. Information packages will be mailed to all eligible voters the week prior to the election. Members can vote by mail-in ballot, phone or online. One vote per IFM/FBR*.

Candidate meetings have been arranged to give members an opportunity to meet and speak with the candidates for their respective Zone.

Grenville Federation of Agriculture will be hosting an all candidates meeting on Wednesday, August 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Spencerville Council Chambers.

Leeds Federation of Agriculture will be hosting an all candidates meeting on Thursday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. at St Denis Catholic Church (3 George Street).

Frontenac Federation of Agriculture will be hosting an all candidates meeting on Thursday, August 31 at 7:30 p.m. at Glenburnie United Church Hall.

How to Vote:

  • Mail your completed ballot to OFA between August 21 and September 8, 2017 in the envelope provided (postage required).  Ballots must be received by Friday, September 8.
  • Phone in your vote by dialing 1 877-384-4200 (toll free), enter your assigned PIN, found below and follow instructions to vote.
  • Visit the online website at https://ofa.simplyvoting.com, enter your assigned PIN, found below and follow instructions to vote.
  • Drop off your ballot in the envelope provided at one of the candidate meetings in your area.

*     Voting members are Individual Farm Members and Farm Business Registrants who applied for membership in the OFA and received a 2017 Membership Card
