The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) and the Labour Issues Coordinating Committee (LICC) presented a collaborative webinar exploring recent changes to the Employment Standards Act (ESA) as a result of Bill 148 and what those changes mean to you and your farm business. The farm labour webinar was the latest in a series of webinars on topics and issues impacting OFA members and the agricultural industry.
The webinar provided details as to what the ESA is; how it is currently applied to farm employees; and what the recent changes mean to farm employers and employees. The new changes will impact full-time, part-time or occasional employers in the agricultural sector.
The presentation provided a summary and overview of changes to the Employment Standards Act (ESA) as a result of Bill 148 and concluded with OFA members engaging in a Q&A session with the presenters.
