BURLINGTON, ON [October 4, 2016] – Our organizations’ mandates are to support agriculture, and that includes helping Ontario farmers in a variety of ways. Farm & Food Care Ontario, Christian Farmers’ Federation of Ontario, Ontario Federation of Agriculture and Ontario Pork are working together to support agriculture through the trial, and provide balanced and credible information to Ontarians.
Our organizations have taken an active communications role in the Anita Krajnc case, and continue to monitor developments and share information accordingly. That includes meeting with the farmer involved and addressing his concerns.
The charge of criminal mischief against Anita Krajnc in this case relates to interfering with farm animals while in transit. It is a case of mischief, and as representatives of Ontario’s farmers and farm organizations, we sincerely hope the court continues to focus on the specific issue at hand.
Developments in the case and associated actions by interested parties are being monitored very closely. Our coordinated action plan has been established, though remains flexible to adapt as needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
