Agri-Skills Training

Overview

Ontario’s agriculture and agri-food sectors are leading economic engines for the province. This continued success and the ability to build on that success through growth depends on our access to a skilled workforce. Agri-skills training and development needs to be a priority for academic institutions and government in order to continue growing Ontario’s agri-food industry.

Right now, in the province of Ontario, the University of Guelph indicates that there are 3 agri-food jobs waiting for each degree graduate and 2 agri-food jobs for every diploma graduate.

In order for agriculture and the agri-food industry to grow and to enable Ontario to grow we need skilled workers.
