Ontario 4R Demonstration Tour Day (2017)

The 4R Best Management Practices Field Tour is funded under the Ontario 4R Memorandum of Cooperation (Fertilizer Canada; the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs; and the Ontario Agri-Business Association), helping Ontario farmers maximize crop yields with minimal environmental impact using 4R Nutrient Stewardship.

                       Meet at Bradley Centre, 565 Richmond St., Chatham
                       Bus provided for the day

10:00 a.m.     Data Management Systems, Dale Cowan, AGRIS
                      Recommend that participants download MAVRX App on your iPhone or Android
                      as you will be accessing real time ?eld data via satellite imaging

111:00 a.m.   Farm visit focusing on fertilizer 4R principles, John Nooyen (Burk Line)

12:30 p.m.    Lunch (provided)

1:15 p.m.      Leave farm to travel to Ridgetown Campus

1:30 p.m.     Review research on phosphorus, nitrogen management and soil health - Dr. Laura Van  Eerd

2:15 p.m.     Soil One report - Christine George, Alpha Agri-Products

2:45 p.m.     Soil test demo - Anne Verhallen, OMAFRA

3:15 p.m.     Test plots - Dr. Laura Van Eerd & team

4:00 p.m.     Bus returns to Bradley Centre
