OFA Anti-Spam Policy

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) would like to continue communicating with its membership, supporters and associate supporters and needs their consent.

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), which came into force July 1, 2014, stipulates that OFA has a legal obligation to obtain express consent from its membership, supporters and associate supporters in order to continue sending electronic communications (e-mail) that is deemed to be a Commercial Electronic Message (CEM). As it relates to OFA business a few examples of a commercial activity include membership, the OFA Benefit Program and surveys.

Canada’s anti-spam law states that without consent we will no longer be able to communicate electronically with our membership, supporters and associate supporters about issues and information relevant to their farm business, including OFA membership.

OFA requires consent from any persons who have subscribed to receiving electronic messages from us regarding organizational updates, membership information, weekly e-newsletters, meeting notices, benefit program updates and promotions, event invitations and information, monthly meetings, annual general meetings, county federation newsletters and other important information as it relates to OFA business.

OFA members, supporters and associate supporters may withdraw their consent and unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained in all of our electronic communications.
